USDA Forest Service

Within the Forest Service, there are scientists across the Northern Research Station and at cooperating institutions with expertise relevant to the CRL, including in the areas of: urban natural resource stewardship, strategic forecasting, fire-dependent species, climate change, and ecosystem changes and restoration.

Key partners of the CRL include the Urban Field Stations, which support research and adaptive management programs focused on science-practitioner partnerships.  In addition, the Pinelands Research Station / Silas Little Experimental Forest focuses on fire danger and fire behavior modeling in the wildland-urban interface, and has a state-of-the-art real-time monitoring system to evaluate impacts of extreme events and natural disturbances on ecosystems.  Finally, the CRL will interact with newer initiatives including the USDA Regional Climate Hubs and the Urban Waters Federal Partnership.
